This thing is absolutely, completely insane! Calling it a go-kart doesn't even do it justice—it feels like a rocket ship strapped to the asphalt. The acceleration hits you instantly, and the top speed is terrifyingly awesome. It handles like a absolute dream, letting you break traction and drift effortlessly while still feeling rock-solid and incredibly well-built. If you are on the fence about getting one, just do it. Your adrenaline levels will never be the same. This is hands down the most fun you can have on four wheels!
I converted my BirelArt AM-29 from LO206 gas to the GoKartGod Nighthawk system, and it has completely changed what this chassis can do. On our small track here in Houston I'm seeing around 63 mph, right in the same window as the fastest karts running that circuit. The difference is how it gets there. The torque is instant and relentless, and there's no shifting, no clutch engagement point to manage, no waiting for revs. You just point it and go.
What really surprised me is how playful it is in the corners. The power delivery is so controllable that you can steer with the throttle in a way that's hard to describe until you've felt it. It rotates beautifully and puts the power down exactly when you ask for it.
I just ordered a second battery pack so I can cut down the turnaround between sessions. That's honestly the only limiting factor right now, and it's an easy fix.
Bottom line: this thing is an absolute blast. I can't wait for more people to get theirs so we can put together an EV division here in Houston. If you're on the fence about converting, do it.

I have one of the first few Nighthawk’s. I have a handful of exotic cars too, and the nighthawk is the most fun you can have on 4 wheels. It’s quick, fast, incredibly well built and easy to drive. Within an hour i was drifting it around the corner streets thru my neighborhood at 2-3x the legal speed limit. Couldn’t recommend it enough, eventually I’ll buy 1-2 more so we can have a few going at any given time.
Yes, I actually own a Nighthawk. I was lucky enough to be the first customer to put an order in for one. Did I need it? Of course I didn't need it. Did I want one? Of course I wanted one. Is it a realistic thing? Well, no one buys a supercharged sports car for the gas mileage. No one buys a 200hp motorcycle for the safety. And no one buys a 50kw, 44hp electric gokart to not scare small children, make grown men giggle and have the neighbors stop in their tracks and realize your gokart is faster than their Toyota Camry. This kart is insane. Incredibly fast, very stable, well built and solid. I didn't want a gas kart and I didn't want to Frankenstein various pieces and components together. The only other two options were smaller, not as fast and more expensive. Erik poured his blood, sweat and tears into this build and it speaks for itself. Mine was the guinea pig and Erik didn't stop building and tweaking it until the final product was perfection. Getting the light kit right, ordering new custom built wiring harnesses, and customizing speed settings so my 12 and 15 year old girls could manage driving it. The pictures and videos online do not do it justice. You have to get one yourself, and uncrate the magic of road tearing, rubber burning, Zeus level lightning.
The plans are on point and VERY fool proof as Eric says in his promotion video. No issues with download and understanding the work needed. I cannot wait to pop some welds, bend a little aluminum and smash the gas or electrode on the insanely constructed idea of the next generation of “Fast Fun!” from Go Kart God.
